It just feels like the time flies right on by. It is already the middle of February-didn't we just open Christmas presents last week??? I am the first to admit I am no longer wanting snow-I am now ready for spring. The daffodils are already up and blooming-which means from now until they are done blooming I will have fresh flowers on the table-THANK YOU DALTON. I can think of so many things that I would like to do outside before it gets HOT. (and the icky spiders start coming out again) I have many flower beds to redo and a few to create. It is time for our quarterly pest spray to be done so when he is finished I can go back and clean the windows-again. I think there is something very soothing about opening the windows and letting fresh air flow through the house. I planted jasmine last year by some windows in the back so I am hoping to be able to smell them at some point.
WE ARE READY FOR VISITORS-HELLO-HELLO IS ANYONE OUT THERE LISTENING????????? (knock knock) IS THIS THING ON???

OH WHAT A WEEKEND-IS IT OK IF I FORGET IT
Oh yes I soooo want to forget this weekend. I thought it would be a good one since it was a 4 day weekend for Dalton. I tried to plan a little get away but it did not work. That should have been my first clue to get into the house, lock the doors and pull the blinds!!!!
Dalton got out of school an hour early on Thursday and late that afternoon we had parent teacher conf. which were EXCELLENT. We are very proud of Dalton and how far he has come this year.
Friday was good. We did some early shopping trying to get ready for our "Family Valentine Dinner". I tried my best all day to eat very little because I was fixing my favorite meal for dinner and I knew I would pig out. I battered my own chicken tenders and fried them, real mashed potatoes, (can you hear the arteries hardening?) corn, baby sweet peas, rolls (from a pkg) and sweet tea! I need to be careful or I might short out my keyboard from the drool!!
Saturday we decided that we would make a day of it and go to Little Rock. We went to Sam's first. It's a good thing. ( you will understand why later) We got our basic bulk necessities and we broke down and decided to buy ourselves a new camera. We were as excited as kids in a candy store. So many styles, prices, COLORS, prices, gadgets, prices. Yes I keep saying prices because I can't get over how much they are! I must live in a cave sometimes. All was well until we went to the checkout. Very long lines. I found one and got in it.. Next thing I know- one of the cashiers was line busting and put someone in front of me because "she had already scanned their cart". The dingbat started at the end of the line instead of up closer to the register, So then she starts scanning our cart-meanwhile someone else jumps in front of us. grrrrrrrrr steam was coming out of my head!!!!! I was not quiet about this! As a matter of fact the older I get the mouthier I get! Let's just say this gal wouldn't even look at me in the eye. I am sure she thought she was this close (-) to getting her lights punched out! Then we had told Dalton we would take him to Chuck E. Cheeses. We know better than to do this on a Saturday but apparently our brains were out of order when we made this decision. After spending what seemed like forever in there I said "Dalton it is time to go." Even Dalton said "good I can't take this place anymore!" If I had been to "CEC" first I would have gone LOCO in Sam's. We then went and ate dinner and came home.
Sunday, boy this is a good one, was a nice day at home. Denny and I went to Lowes to get shelving for Dalton's playroom and for the office. We got the playroom organized and I decided to go shop for curtains. I was driving the Bug and I was going down the mountain when I got this hair brained idea to look over and see if these people ever came back and got their dogs. You see they lived in a house on the side of the mountain and they moved out and for days the dogs were still there. I don't know if they were going over and feeding them or what but I was checking it out when skreeeeeeech. I SIDE SWIPED THE GUARD RAIL!!!!! ugh!!!!!!!!!!! No dents just scratches, but it will have to be professionally buffed (fixed) because I already tried and it didn't work. I am now hiding in a hole. The hole of shame. =(
Dalton is off tomorrow too. I think we will stay home and play. (with objects with rounded edges)

TORNADOES IN OKLAHOMA
My friend Pam and her family live in an area that was hit by the tornadoes yesterday. This is a picture of a trampoline pole that was sent through her roof. The trampoline was from down the street, they have no idea where the mat to the trampoline is. They were very lucky for this seems to be the worst of their damage. Pam was home alone and had to get into the storm shelter that is built into the floor of their garage. I am sure she was scared to death.

Dalton and Ethan Sun. Feb 8, 2009

Dalton up in a tree, as usual, on the lookout for pirates!!

Dalton is our little "boy vs. wild" and he's going to spear a fish!

Ethan hanging out on top of the bridge, because we all know that Trolls live under bridges!

Dalton is always eager to play in the dirt.

Ethan is not so sure about playing in this mud stuff so he just put in the tip of one finger.
NEEDING EXTRA PRAYERS
I am asking that you all put my Aunt Glenda in your prayers. I will give you a brief rundown of all that has happened.
Last year my Aunt fell and broke her hip. When she got to the hospital-for some reason- they did not operate right away and put some sort of heavy things on her feet and leg. This not only created a dropped for for her but I a very severe sore on her leg. She is diabetic and this is still trying to heal. They did surgery after 4 days (I believe). Of course there was rehab etc. Then my Uncle (her husband) found out he had cancer. It got worse and they both needed so much round the clock care that they went to an assisted living center. He ended up passing away in November. She has continued to stay at the center because of not being able to do so many of the normal day to day things due to the issues with her dropped foot. Well, on Sunday morning when she got to church she fell in the parking lot and broke the other hip which required immediate surgery. She is still in a lot of pain and there is a dilemma as to how she can start the walking process since she is not suppose to put all of her weight on the other foot and leg. Please keep her in your prayers for a speedy and safe recovery. Please pray for knowledge, wisdom and patience for the medical personnel who will be taking care of her. And last but not least pray for peace and rest for the family who are looking after her for they are still dealing with the aftermath of the severe ice storm that hit their area 2 weeks ago.
We all appreciate your prayers.

2:30 IN THE MORNING
Yes, that is what time it was when the sound of a barking dog woke me up. I don't usually wake up very easily by something like this, but this was one of those mornings I guess. I listened closely to see if it was our dog or a neighbors and quickly realized that it was OUR dog. Since she was the only dog barking I got out the spotlight to see what was wrong with her. She was tangled up around the 4wheeler trailer. poor dog. I put on some shoes and went out and untangled her. She is lucky that it had quit raining other wise she would have stayed like that. She was under the lean-to so she would have been dry anyway. Once I got back into the house it was like "listen to the quiet". I felt like I should be doing something productive. I went and got a drink of water and washed that thought right out of my head!!haha I turned on a home improvement show and fell back asleep.
