And by we I mean DENNY! We have recently spotted a snake in the creek again. Actually there are 2 different ones. When one or both of them is spotted we have used the following techniques in trying to kill them:
* sticking a pole up under the bank trying to stab it
* sticking a rake up under the bank trying to stab it
* shooting at it with a bb gun (all he did was poke the snakes eye out) haha
And now we have gone to a whole new level...............FIREWORKS! Yes we took a drive to a local firework stand just so we could purchase fireworks to kill snakes. I am happy to report (I think) that they no longer sell M 80's cause so many people were getting their hands blown off. Now here is a random thought................couldn't this be a good war tactic.........happily give the enemy M 80's and let them blow off their own hands??? Nawwwwwwwwwwwww we can't do that. ok back on track here.... So we have an array of bottle rockets and some other sort of thing that goes boom that we hope will kill the snakes. Stay tuned for updates on this one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!
My birthday was last week on the 24th. yea yea happy birthday to me blah blah blah. What I want to tell about is Dalton- of course. You see I did the first sentence to try and make it kinda like my cake, which was pink and purple tiedye . It also had a peace sign on it. On the second day of eating on the cake Dalton came in looked at the cake and with a wrinkled up face and his lip all puckered out said "I wanted a piece with the STEERING WHEEL on it mommy!" bahahahahahahahahahaha kids are so funny!!
SCIENCE CAMP
Dalton and his friend Ethan attended Science camp last week. On the first day when I picked Dalton up and asked him what they did he replied "I don't know, I can't remember." I paid $75 for this?? So the next day I asked the same question and he said "he was a scientist." Well there you go. I am so sure many of you paid big bucks to go to college when all you needed to do was pay your $75 and go to day camp for a week. At the end of the week he came home with a journal charted with their activities (made by Dalton) which was mostly pictures he drew. He had a Kaleidoscope that he made using a toilet paper roll and some sequins and one of those small condiment cups with a lid that you get when you get your food to go at the nice eateries. Who knew. They made a necklace with cool beads that change color in the sun, decorated a t-shirt, made paper flowers, some sort of prism thingy and a lot of net things to do at home stuff. I know they actually did more but I am not sure exactly what all they did with it, such as the bubbles, dry ice, trash bags???? (not all at the same time-or at least I don't think so)
OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY

Sitting at a slot machine while waiting for our name to be called to go eat breakfast. As tight as I am holding my bag you would think I really had something in it!

Another view from a top of the Eiffel Tower
For our 20th anniversary we went to Las Vegas. It seemed fitting since we honeymooned there. We have traveled there many times since but the last was in 1997 and so many things have changed since then. We spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Paris hotel which was plenty but at the same time we still didn't go everywhere we wanted to go. Our big wooo hooo while we were there was a 4 wheeler trip we took in El Dorado canyon. They picked us up at our hotel and took us to our tour. Our tour consisted of riding 4 wheelers in the desert and on small mountains and hills, a BBQ dinner and a tour thru a real gold mine that actually still has gold in it. It was fun and something different to do from the normal casino hopping. We were hoping to see some "desert" life, (ie. lizzard, snake, spider-not that I REALLY wanted to see them but I know they are different than the ones we have at home) but all we saw was a coyote at sundown. Oh well.
We also took a tour to Primm Nevada which is where I got Denny to ride the roller coaster, the very same one he said he would never ride again back in 1997, and he vows to never ride it or any other roller coaster again! It is a good thing Dalton is my little thrill seeker and loves roller coasters too! While they are strapping you in the roller coaster there is a recording telling you all about the coaster: said it gets to 87mph, over 200 ft tall and it pulled as many "G's" as some astronauts some where-I missed that part.
On our last night there we went into the top of the Eiffel tower. While waiting in line I discovered our camera was not working. It is a good thing that Denny's cell phone takes pretty darn good pictures. Now if I can just figure out how to get them transferred onto here. ;) I'll keep trying.
We had a good time! Happy anniversary to us!

WHAT ALL CAN KIDS GET INTO IN ONE DAY?
I WILL TELL YOU WHAT ALL KIDS CAN GET INTO IN ONE DAY!
Said kids (that being Dalton and his accomplice Aubrey) started out playing in his bedroom. Hotwheels, trucks and tractors everywhere! After playing there for a while they went upstairs to the playroom. I did not go up there-I was scared too. They left from up there and went outside and played on their scooters. ( I am going to do a giant run-on of what all they did outside) They got out the wagon put in some tubs, got out the butterfly nets which Dalton has taped them onto broom handles to turn them into fishing nets. yes theses WERE from brooms and mops of mine, they caught fish and craw fish from the creek and put them into tubs and buckets (temporary pets) they got bored with that and got into the pool, had noodle fights in the pool- and out of the pool, came in and changed clothes, went back out and was playing on the playset. They were playing for a long time. This gave me time to start cleaning up the mess they created in the house when they came in to change clothes. Denny came home and asked what all of the hammering was outside-sounded like it was coming from the playhouse. I go running out to find both kids on the roof of the playhouse. Dalton had a hammer and 5 inch nails hammering them into the roof of the playhouse. I guess Aubrey was up there for moral support??? Whatever he does-she does. Got them down from there and they went back to looking for fish in the creek. Thinking that it is safe to go back in only to later find them in the last and remaining dirt pile in the yard. COVERED!! I will never be able to get the dirt out of Aubrey's clothes and actually this is the second time they have got into the dirt so it is the second shirt she has ruined. Her momma may kill me this time. Aubrey said they are not new but they sure did look it. "Did" being the operative word. This pretty much went on until dark when they came in and ate and got a bath then played a little bit longer until bedtime. I thought it would never get here. Neither child was bad-they were just hard to keep up with.

WHAT A WAY TO KICK OFF THE SUMMER
On Wednesday Dalton was out playing in the yard. He was making his usual rounds on his bike, playing on the play set, playing in the creek etc. He decided it was time to jump the creek-again. Now mind you, he jumps the creek all the time so this is nothing new for him. (the creek is about 4 feet wide where he likes to jump) Dalton took off running and jumped, he made it, but he didn't land right, he was in flip flops, he hurt his foot. He complained that it hurt and hobbled around a bit but it didn't slow him down too much. By bedtime it was a whole nother story. The poor kid was crying that he was in pain. I gave him Tylenol and an ice pack and he finally cried himself to sleep. The next morning he was still in pain and couldn't walk on it so I made him an appointment to see the DR. He had his first xrays done. Nothing was broke just bruised. They told him to keep off of it and keep it elevated and to wear tennis shoes for a while for support. You know this is not going over very well. He can't sit still.
Last night we took Dalton to a local festival and pulled him around in his wagon. He wanted to ride the MECHANICAL BULL!! Needless to say he did not get to ride it. (I didn't have my camera with me hehe)

SMOKERS BEWARE!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRR this makes my head spin around!!!!!!
Here is what happened: yesterday going into Wal Mart there was a man who was walking about 4 feet in front of us. Right before the man went through the automatic door he extended his arm backwards and FLICKED his cigarette!! It came within inches of hitting me. If Dalton had been on that side it would have hit him for sure!!! So, I said in a LOUD voice "you almost hit me with that cigarette!" No response he just kept on walking. So I said in my next loud voice to my mom but the loudness was so he could hear it (not cause mom is hard of hearing or anything) "that idiot almost hit me with that cigarette and wont even acknowledge it!" still nothing. So in my next loud voice, and by this time he had stepped up his pace, I said "if he had hit my child with that thing he would find out what it is like to have this plus size momma kicking his butt!" He never looked back and increased his pace-which I could have easily caught up with him cause these legs are short but I have got a fast pace that Denny cant even keep up with. At this point I had to let him go on or I new it was not going to be pretty.
Family, friends and those of you who I don't know: WATCH WHAT THE HECK YOU DO WITH YOUR CIGARETTES CAUSE I AM ALL "FIRED" UP AND READY TO GET YA!!! (what if that had landed in a baby carrier???)

SUMMER VACATION
Well, here we are in our second week of summer vacation. Doing better than the first official day when Dalton told me he was BORED. Right now we are just kinda hanging around the house not really doing much of anything. We have plenty of summer plans which include Dalton going to Science (day) camp for a week, birthday parties, swimming lessons and hopefully out of town company.
Denny and I will be going to Las Vegas for our 20th wedding anniversary this month. We went to Vegas on our honeymoon so it seemed fitting to go for our 20th. We have been to Vegas a few times since then but it has been a long time since our last trip so we know it has changed a lot and it will feel like new to us like the first time we went out there.
Here is my problem: I will be gone from Dalton for 5 days!!! I don't know how I am going to handle this. The only time I have been gone from Dalton that long was when I was in the hospital, he was 3, and I was really sick with my kidneys and we didn't want Dalton any where near the hospital-afraid he would pick up a bug while there. I was really out of it and didn't know much of what was going on anyway. I may have to take up drinking ;) haha.
Anyone who would like to come visit with us this summer (or any other time) let me know so I can put you on the calendar and have something else to look forward to.
